Obama Administration Calls for Disclosure

Joseph Aldy, special adviser to President Obama on matters related to energy and the environment says that there is not enough evidence to say if hydraulic fracturing fluids are damaging the environment. He urged the industry to disclose the chemicals used in drilling, acknowledging concerns about water contamination and warning that failure to do so might hold back shale gas development.
