The pits can contain oil-laden waste water mixed with hydraulic fracturing fluids and drilling mud brought up from well bores. Tests show they often contain large amounts of benzene and other carcinogenic compounds.

ReplyDeleteAfter the pipeline is placed in the trench and covered up and grass grows over it, will it be forgotten? Somehow I think I would always be aware it was there, and I would not feel as safe as I once felt before the pipeline.
